Montana Watercourse offers opportunities for the public, educators, students and experts to get involved in several watershed activities including:

To make a more sustained contribution, please consider joining our "mentor/apprentice program" detailed below.

Mentor & Apprentice Program

Experts and seasoned teachers are an invaluable resource to the community. While no mentor is obligated to provide a given service; mentors have historically contributed by guiding tours, presenting lessons (consistent with science standards), leading festival stations, assisting with field activities, reviewing grant applications and providing vital trainings.

Mentor Benefits

Mentors who donate their time can earn the following rewards.

20 hours:                     A coupon for two weeks of educational trunk rentals

30 hours:                     A coupon for $30 off MT Watercourse and/or Project WET materials

40 hours:                     A coupon for $40 off MT Watercourse and/or Project WET materials

50 hours:                     A free guest speaker provided by MT Watercourse to address a topic of your choice

                                 (Note: the topic must be environmentally based)

                                 OR $50 off MT Watercourse and/or Project WET materials

Hours expire one year from the enrollment date, and can be saved or divided however the mentor chooses. Hours may not be combined with other mentor hours.

Apprentice Benefits

Teachers and community members alike who participate in this program will benefit from the knowledge, guidance and assistance of a mentor free of cost. Apprentices will further be rewarded by developing a sustainable relationship with a member of the community.
